Every inbox on the planet is about to scream 40% OFF. We're not doing that.
There's no sale here. No doorbuster. No "limited time only." The communities we work with don't get a holiday from broken infrastructure, so we're not pretending this week is about deals.
This Black Friday, we're asking you to donate instead of shopping — or at least shop like it matters.
The systems failed. People didn't.
Water that doesn't come. Roofs that never got fixed after the last storm. Kids with nothing to do and nowhere to go. From Puerto Rico to Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa, and beyond the story is the same: the institutions that were supposed to handle it didn't, and neighbors filled the gap.
That's who we fund. Not consultants. Not a gala. The people already doing the work on the ground.

Where we started
EXC was born in the community. From earthquakes in Indonesia, building homes in Bali, donating surfboards in Sumbawa, and donating water in Puerto Rico.
Since August 7, 2026, more than 180,000 water customers in San Juan and six surrounding municipalities have lived on 48-hour rotating shutoffs. In June, a Superaqueduct line in Bayamón split in three places and nearly 40,000 customers lost water completely. No agency even publishes how often households lose service.
That's the capital. Out in the campo, families stretch an aljibe and wait on a truck. That's why we built Water Xchange — volunteer-led water delivery that donors fund and we drive.
Across the world: Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa
The same fight shows up on the other side of the planet. EXC has worked in Bali, Lombok and Sumbawa in Indonesia — islands tourists see on postcards, with communities that live with the same gaps once the cameras and the tour buses leave.
Different ocean. Same excuses. Same answer: show up and do the work.
Where your Black Friday donation goes
EXC International is a 501(c)(3). Your gift supports all EXC missions and projects, in Puerto Rico and beyond:
Clean water access — getting water to families the system skipped, starting with Water Xchange.
Home construction and repair — fixing the damage that "recovery funds" somehow never reach.
Disaster relief grants — direct money to people and small businesses after storms. No application maze. We go to them.
Youth surf and skate — boards in the hands of kids who need something that's theirs.
Education support — backing Montessori schools so the next generation doesn't inherit the same excuses.
Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. EIN 92-3953750.
Merch that gives back
If you're going to buy something this week, make it count. Our No Más Excusas line is the anti-Black-Friday gift: full price, no markdowns, and proceeds fund EXC's missions.
The name comes from Puerto Rico — it's what you say when you're done waiting on people who keep promising and never show. Wear it anywhere. Rep the island while you fund the work.
Black Friday → Giving Tuesday: five days, one ask
Black Friday is November 27. Giving Tuesday is December 1. Between them, the internet will try to sell you everything.
Give one of those five days back. Donate once, set up a monthly gift so the work keeps moving in February, or grab a shirt and rep it.
